Jaxbras

Overview

Jaxbas is mostly a desert planet with only one big continent and a small island off the east coast. It has a desert climate and is the smallest of Palas’s inhabited planets. Large factories pepper the land in between fragmented cities. The biggest city is called The Oasis and it is where the richest Jaxin citizens live. Another large populated city is Reana which is located on the coast. Reana is considered the culture hub of Jaxbas. The third largest city is the island of Bagua. Bagua is culturally very different from the mainland but is still ruled by the same government. Some say the Tivk originated from Bagua but no one is sure (except the Tivk of course).

Government

Jaxbas is an Oligarchy ruled by the Jax Trading Company. They control the trading between almost every city because they are based in the middle of the Oasis which the majority of rivers branch off of. They also have a lot of sway with the planet Denrith. They don’t officially rule over Denrith but the two planets' governments are tightly woven together. There are a few hidden societies that try and function on their own but the only one that has consistently survived are a group of nomads called Tivk. The Tivk have a democratic system of government. JTC has been silently trying to eliminate the Tivk but has been unsuccessful.

Culture

Mainland

Each town may have its own subculture but most have stone or mud based buildings often covered by colorful tarps. Factories are often built underground with a small top building as an entrance. The east is slightly separated from the other lands by the Red desert but it has a strong trade with the Oasis, their main export being agriculture.

The Oasis is made of tall stone towers that get bigger the farther inward you go. It’s ports are always busy with shipments. Their Galactic port is on the west of the island.

City of Reana

Reana is filled with people from all over Jaxbas and is a mix of many different subcultures over the continent. Self professed “City of the Future” colorful tech and stacked buildings are it’s staple. Reana has a few different districts and some are more hidden than others. Reana also has a galactic port of the edge of the city.

Bagua

Bagua is a tropical island that is where many Jaxin go for their vacation if they are lucky enough to have one. They trade more exotic plants and animals. Instead of just mud or stone their buildings are often also made of a type of crystal that grows on the beaches. The crystal is considered sacred to many but has unfortunately been disappearing over the years.

Galactic Standing

Jaxbas is where a lot of high quality textiles and low quality everything else comes from. If you need work and are desperate they are always willing to sign you in but it’s notoriously hard to sign out.

Denrith is their closest tie and they are sister planets. They started their close relationship over 2000 years ago during a brief cold war between Denrith and Vellin. Jaxbas offered support which eventually got Vellin to back down.

The Black Garden

Biggest of Jaxbas’s moon the Black Garden is a detention center where the worst criminals in the galaxy are brought. Run by the Moonmen, The Black Garden is stacked with cells inside and out of the moon. There is only one way in and out and that’s the dock which is separate from the main building. The corridors are purposely arranged in confusing ways and many both guard and criminal have been lost.

Vexin

Jaxbas’s second moon. This moon is a large trading post all sanctioned by JTC. It is basically a large mall on a moon.

The Vixens

A group of criminals that often call themselves a revolution. The Vixens steal from the rich and give to the poor. They have a strict code of honor and don’t steal from the less fortunate or eachother. Many cities consider them heroes which is how they have escaped JTC and the Moonmen.

Mostly they focus on Jaxbas but have recently spread out to other planets and moons. This is mainly due to their new command, a mysterious woman by the name of Ghost 82.
